Orthodox Klooster

Sister Maria, the abyss of the Orthodox Klooster in de Peel, Netherlands, established this monastery 20 years ago. After four years of trying to run this monastery alone, the sister called for other sisters to come and live with her.  Today, there are six sisters living at the monastery  who live a serene lifestyle. The sisters awaken every morning at 5:30 am for morning prayer and go to bed around 10 pm after their final prayers.  Their days are filled with prayers while each have their own responsibilities or chores. These tasks  need to be completed in order to keep the monastery running. This is the beginning of a project I am currently working on about the sisters and their lifestyle. My first trip was more about learning and understanding what happens at the Klooster. Here are just a few photos from the trip.
